Beginning in 2012, The Sprit of the Hills Writers Group has produced, in conjunction with Blue Denim Press, a bi-annual anthology of poetry, short stories and memoir by writers of Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada.
The latest in the series is Hill Spirits V.
A poetry chapbook featuring FIVE Canadian poets: Stephen Laird, Ingrid Ruthig, Gwynn Scheltema, Andrea Stone and Ruth Walker. These poets formed the editorial board for Lichen Arts & Letters Preview and stepped out from behind the desk to put together this collection of their own poetry. Published by Whirling Dervish Press in 2003.
In the summer of 2011, a group of writers gathered at Mary Holme on Lake Simcoe, Ontario for a week-long residency with Pat Schnieder, founder of the Amherst Writers Association. There was much laughter and not a few tears and when it was over, we wanted something to remember this special time. James Dewar and Sue Reynolds of Piquant Press kindly agreed to produce this anthology. The contents are as varied as the writers.
